Term information
definition
The MATE2 inhibition assay is a functional in vitro assay used to evaluate the potential of a drug candidate to inhibit the transport activity of the human Multidrug and Toxin Extrusion 2-K (MATE2-K or SLC47A2) transporter. The assay fundamentally measures the interference with MATE2-K-mediated active efflux (the physiological function) by observing the effect on substrate accumulation in a cell system.
